Graham cakes have always been a welcome dessert for a typical Filipino family. It’s easy to prepare and can already feed 6-8 people hungry for sweets. You only have to put it in the fridge for a few hours and it’s ready to be served.

Whether you are entertaining or just want to have an afternoon time with your family, preparing graham cakes will make simple moments seem extraordinary.

So how do you prepare a Graham cake?

First, gather all the ingredients you will need, such as:

  • 3 packs of Graham biscuits ( 1 pack contains 30 crackers)
  • 3 250-gram packs of all-purpose cream
  • 1 150-ml condensed milk
  • 1 medium can of fruit cocktail – drained (you can also use mango or other fruits)

Next mix all-purpose cream and the condensed milk in a bowl. Then layer the graham biscuits to the container and spread the mixed cream and milk on top of the layer.

The top most layer must be well-covered with the thick mixture, so it will seep throughout the next layer.  Then add the fruit toppings and spread evenly on top of the graham biscuits. Again place another layer of graham biscuits then the mixed all-purpose cream and milk, then the fruits.

Continue to layer until all graham biscuits are laid out or if you have your desired level of layered graham biscuits and fruit toppings.

Chill in the refrigerator for two to three hours then serve. You can serve up to 6-8 servings for as low as 6 to 7 dollars (P300).

So do away with expensive cakes that are a hassle to prepare, unless you are planning a wedding, and go for the graham cakes.

  • 2 cups fat free half-and-half
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ vanilla bean
  • 3  graham crackers, crushed

Mix half-and-half and the sugar in a large bowl. Split open the vanilla bean and get the seeds and put them in the bowl. Whisk until three ingredients are combined.

Pour the above cream mixture into the ice cream maker and then process. When it’s semi frozen, sprinkle the crushed graham crackers and continue to process until desired consistency.

The graham cracker crust will make this recipe thicker and richer which will be delectable to the taste.  You can always trust graham biscuits to save your day when it comes to desserts. Whip up an ice cream from your fridge, add the biscuits and some marshmallows. Then you are good to go and impress your guests.
